Sick of virginal news
First there was the 105 year old virgin. Then the 99 year old virgin was revealed. Then mX printed a story yesterday about a 36 year old virgin. Oh come on, a 36 year old virgin is hardly news. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were quite a number of men and women in their 30s who have never had sex. There wouldn’t be many people over 100 who could say the same, possibly because there aren’t very many people over 100 anyway. On one hand I think it’s good for the world to hear that it’s not so uncommon for people to choose celibacy in singleness (and monogamy in marriage), but I really am sick of hearing about this. Maybe we need to flood the media with so many of these stories that it stops being news. I suppose articles like these are less harmful to society than a lot of other topics could be, but it saddens me to see how promiscuous our society has become, to find stories like these news-worthy.
